Canon FD 50mm f1.2 L Aspheric Floating Element Super Fast Prime Lens, 1980, VGC

A very nice 50mm f1.2 L ultra fast prime lens.

In Canon FD mount. This is the 8 element version with the Aspherical and Floating Elements.

It is a tour De Force of the lens designer's art, and one of the finest 50mm lenses available anywhere.

This lens is sharp wide open, and at all distances too.

Only made from 1980 to 1988, this example has date code U1000

which dates it to October 1980, right at the launch date of this lens.

Serial number is 10552

Cosmetically it is verey nice, tidy with sogns of light to moderate use (not quite Exc++)

Optically it is clean and clear, but there is a very tiny scratch slightly off centre in the rear element.

Smooth focus 

Snappy Iris.

It comes with both caps and a nice leather case.

It will ship in a canon box but this is for a 50/1.8 so is not correct.
