Huttig Gnom / Aviso / 6x4.5 Drop Plate Camera very nice, Rare, VGC
A rare and interesting little box camera.
In excellent condition for the age and type (around Exc+ or better_
This is unidentified but is a Huttig camera, Either a Gnom or an Aviso.
(the Aviso replaced the Gnom, but with no apparent differences)
The camera was continued under the Ica brand following a merger in 1909.
This is not the Ica version as I have seen one and it was embossed with the Ica logo.
It was also sold in the UK by Butcher's as "The Little Nipper"
C.1903-1907.
It is a plate camera and accepts six holders internally, which can be manipulated with a lever on top.
This allows for six exposures on glass plates per loading.
The camera is very uncommon, and this is a very good, complete example, having three of the original plate carriers, and it's original clip on finder and lens cap.
The (non-capping) shutter still works correctly.
An excellent choice for a collector's camera
